Erbium Laser
Erbium laser resurfacing, which is similar to Fraxel and CO2 laser technology, is a skin treatment that uses a laser to remove the outer layer of skin and stimulate collagen production to improve the skin’s appearance.
The Erbium laser emits light that’s absorbed by water in the skin, removing the epidermis and causing controlled damage to the dermis. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which can reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture.
This treatment can be semi-ablative or fully-ablative.

Recovery
Down time is typically 3-14 days, depending on whether your treatment was semi- or fully-ablative, your specific skin preparation, and individual skin health.
Results can be seen within two weeks, and continue to improve over the next 2-6 months. Length of results can vary, depending on home skin care routine, preventative care, and genetics. We recommend annual laser resurfacing treatments once you are to your treatment goal.
When first starting laser treatments, packages of three series of treatments is generally recommended.
Skin Types
Erbium laser resurfacing is most effective for patients with Fitzpatrick skin types I-II, but can also be used for types III-IV with careful adjustments. We also have non-ablative options safe for all skin types up to Fitzpatrick VI for resurfacing (Moxi and PicoSure®️ Pro).
